Your team at GDPC is super impressive. They are caring, smart, and creative. I couldn't have been in better hands. You know how they say: Greatness trickles down from the top? Well that is true in your law firm. You are a powerhouse and a creative problem solver and those around you SHINE. I couldn't have been happier with the representation we received. My baby is better for it and my husband and I will forever be grateful.
Thank you to the entire law firm! - client, S.A.

This woman is the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. My family was so blessed to have her work for us. She achieved things that I didn’t even ask for – that I never even knew were possible. If it wasn’t for her expertise and knowledge and the DETERMINATION to go the extra mile, my kids wouldn’t be where they are today. If anyone is hesitant, don’t be. She and her team are AMAZING!

Thanks Gina from the bottom of my heart. Money can’t pay what are you doing for our children!!

Before I met you, I didn't even know compensatory services were a thing. I am so excited to report that the 6 weeks Z. spent at Camp Dunnabeck at Kildonan really changed his mindset. He came home with a clearly different, more positive view of himself and his Dyslexia. He bought a t-shirt with a fist on it that says "Dyslexics Untie" (instead of unite..ha ha) and goes around chanting (as they did at camp) "I'm dyslexic and I'm proud of it!" So different from the boy who cried in a corner for hours in 4th grade when a classmate criticized his spelling. I am sorry that Z. had to be beaten down by school before we won our settlement, but the services you fought for were truly healing for him. We cannot thank you enough. -J.R., client

special education attorney near me
Two years ago I set out to find an attorney who possessed the qualities I knew were necessary to prevail in assuring my son was provided what every child is entitled to under the law… I had intended to interview 3 or 4 attorneys. Following my instincts, I met first with Gina. Thereafter, there was no reason to meet anyone else. I studied her face and eyes as she read through my outline describing how my son had not only been chronically denied a FAPE, but was harmed by a District that simply did not care and placed him in programs that were merely available rather than appropriate. Although I am certain a part of her exquisitely analytical and razor-sharp mind was tallying up many IDEA violations as she read, more important to me as a father I could see Gina was truly compassionate, and genuinely indignant – as if my child was a member of her family! I instantly had an ally who not only got it, but had a need to make it right. After spending about an hour talking, I left with a feeling of confidence and calm that if it could be done, Gina could, and would, do it…. And yes, we prevailed at our Due Process Hearing and won reimbursement of tuition (no simple task) for an appropriate placement where my son thrived – for the first time in his school life. It’s been a pleasure and honor to work with Gina for my son, and I’ll always consider her a friend.

It’s not just a job to Gina…She completely understands it’s our children’s lives at stake. When my boys come home from school, I ask ‘How was your day?’ and only now, THANKS TO GINA, they enthusiastically respond, ‘Great Dad!’

Gina was recommended to me by another attorney, due to her knowledge and reputation. I had a bad situation with my son’s educational rights. I had only 2 days to get someone to help me. I called several attorneys who didn’t even want to know my name. I called Gina. She responded within 24hrs, heard me and took my son’s case. In my eyes she will always be my son’s guardian angel. She worked day and night for us, she gave my son’s future back to him. Plus introduced us to programs that would also help his future. I am forever grateful to her, anyone who hires this woman will not be disappointed, she is brilliant and she is true and most of all honest and caring. These kids are lucky to have someone like she. Thank u Gina, and may u always have great success. She puts her heart into everything she touches.

I am in my freshman year of high school, and with a new school comes new changes. [] School District has been giving my family problems as far back as I can remember including not letting me go to school if my Medicaid nurse is out. When we hired Gina last year that whole school turned around. They now are providing a nurse from the school instead of using our benefits. All in all Gina is the best at dealing with tough situations and is always there when you need her!

My daughter is in 6th grade and Gina has been helping us in some capacity for three years. I have been a legal secretary/assistant for 31 years (but never in education or family law; always big corporate stuff) but I know lawyers. In my 31 years I have never seen an attorney so truly passionate about what they do.

My daughter was adopted at age one from another country, where she had been so severely neglected as an infant that it affected her executive functioning, and as a result, auditory, language and sensory processing disorders affected the way she took in and processed all kinds of information.

No school district we lived in (one in Virginia; then two in NY) ever did what they were required to do under the law to give my daughter what she needed. I was out-jargoned at every committee on special education meeting to develop my daughter’s special ed plan (IEP). It was frustrating and humiliating, and meanwhile my daughter was suffering both academically and emotionally.

I placed my daughter in a small private spec-ed school and started calling education law attorneys to help me get tuition reimbursement. No one would help – they all told me I didn’t have a case worth their time. Not Gina. She helped me in different capacities – sometimes as an attorney representing us, sometimes as a teacher (to me; coaching me on what to do at CSE meetings and beyond) and with her on our side, so far my daughter’s had three years of tuition paid for by the school districts in which we live, when they refused to comply with the law and give her what she needs…Because of Gina, I now know that my daughter is going to have a good life, because she’s getting the foundation she needs.

Gina DeCrescenzo is the best attorney around…in my opinion (and I’m picky). She is a power house attorney. She has helped my son so much… she is fighter all the way… you will not be sorry… She is awesome all around .. The BEST!!!!!!!!!! AAAAA+++++++

When I first met with Gina…”[s]he took over 2 hours of her time (that’s right, no retainer to discuss everything before hiring her) to review everything that had taken place. She reviewed all of the paperwork that had been available and explained to me in detail where the district failed my son and how we were going to proceed, step by step. Over the past year we have won …Independent Educational Evaluations for Speech, OT, Neuropsychological and a Functional Behavioral Assessment. Through these evaluations, we have been able to argue for greater services for our son at school, more detailed and specific goals for his IEP, and fight for ESY services.”

—P.H., client

Bottom line is this…Would I want to do it with anyone else leading the charge? NO WAY. Don’t let that smile fool you. Gina is a fighter who won’t give up and wont let the school district get away with doing things that are not in the best interest of the child.
